Cotswold
Mid-century charm and a village center, minutes from Uptown

What makes Cotswold unique
Named for the rolling English region, Cotswold took shape in the 1950s and 1960s as one of Charlotte's early postwar suburbs, a few miles southeast of Uptown between Providence and Randolph roads. Its winding streets are lined with brick ranches, cottages and Tudor-inspired homes, many renovated or rebuilt.
At its heart is Cotswold Village, which opened in 1963 as one of the city's first suburban shopping centers and was reworked into an open-air center in the early 2000s. New ownership and The Colwick, a new apartment community due in early 2027 with new sidewalks, are nudging the area toward a more walkable future while keeping its neighborly character.
