What makes Ballantyne unique
Ballantyne began as a roughly 2,000-acre hunting tract in far south Charlotte. In 1992 it became Ballantyne Corporate Park, a master-planned hub of offices, golf-course neighborhoods and the Ballantyne Hotel. For years it was known mostly as a place to work and commute from.
That changed with Ballantyne Reimagined. A former golf course became Ballantyne's Backyard, a 100-plus-acre park with trails and ponds; the TD Amp and Stream Park opened in 2023; and The Bowl, a walkable dining and retail district around a central lawn, opened in 2024. With the 26-story Oro Ballantyne tower open and Charlotte's first Wegmans arriving October 14, 2026, the area now feels like a town center of its own.
